Important Note on Audio Recording:
By uploading or recording audio, you declare that you have the necessary rights or consents to process such content (e.g., permission to record a lecture). The application acts solely as a technical processing tool.
2.2 Data generated automatically
- IP address.
- Device information, operating system, and browser type.
- Technical cookies necessary for the app's operation.
- Application logs (errors, crashes, API requests).
- Technical and performance metrics.
- Usage timestamps.
2.3 Data processed via AI Services
SkipThatClass! uses Artificial Intelligence models for audio analysis, text generation, and summarization.
- Audio Transcription: Processed via Groq (using Whisper models).
- Text Analysis & Generation: Processed via Google Gemini or Groq (using Meta LLaMA models).
Data Privacy in AI: Input data sent to these third-party providers is used strictly for the requested technical processing. We opt-out of data retention, ensuring your data is not used to train the providers' third-party models.
3. Purposes of Processing
Data is processed to:
- Provide access to the SkipThatClass! beta version.
- Manage authentication and identity via Clerk.
- Process user requests (transcription and summarization) via integrated AI models.
- Debug errors, improve stability, and optimize performance.
- Monitor the technical health of microservices.
- Manage the database and backend (developed with Prisma).
- Ensure security and prevent abuse.
Data is not used for marketing purposes or unnecessary profiling.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR – Contractual Necessity: Voluntary participation in the beta testing and use of the app’s features.
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – Legitimate Interest: The developer's interest in testing, debugging, and improving SkipThatClass!.
5. Data Retention
Data will be retained for the duration of the beta testing phase.
- Account Data: Retained until the user requests deletion or the beta program ends.
- Audio Files: Raw audio files are deleted immediately after transcription to ensure privacy.
- Transcriptions: Text outputs are stored in the user's private database entry until deleted by the user.
At the end of the beta phase, data will be deleted or anonymized within 90 days, unless technical requirements or legal obligations dictate otherwise.
